# \[BUG\] Crash on opening of XDMF file

Hi all,

I noticed Paraview crashes when opening a XDMF file.  
Steps to reproduce :

- unzip this archive [T.rar](https://discourse.paraview.org/uploads/short-url/2yaBtqTGzeT2d73ptqBbUZJpv3W.rar) (2.6 MB)
- double click on T.xdmf
- select Xdmf3ReaderS and click “ok”

I am using ParaView 5.8.0

I noticed this bug tend to disappear when resetting to default settings. This is the backup file [ParaView5.8.0.ini.bak](https://discourse.paraview.org/uploads/short-url/kRXF9TN6Bgqas91w8g6g42YsPfK.bak) (51 Bytes)

I also noticed that first opening paraview THEN opening the xdmf file helped avoiding this crash.
