I am an aerospace student using **SU2** for wing simulations. I accidentally checked the “Set reader as default” box for `.vtu` files, selecting the **OpenFOAM reader**. Now, ParaView skips the “Open Data With” selection dialog and attempts to force-load my binary SU2 files as OpenFOAM cases, causing a `vtkXMLUnstructuredGridReader` error (Line 26: invalid token).

**Environment:**

- **OS:** Kubuntu 24.04 (KDE Plasma)

- **ParaView Version:** 5.11.2

- **Installation Method:** `sudo apt install`

**Steps Taken (that did not work):**

1. Deleted `~/.config/ParaView/ParaView-UserSettings.json`.

2. Uninstalled and reinstalled via `apt purge`.
