# Conditions for "ghost cell generator" filter use.

Welcome to the ParaView community, Yvan!

I am not an expert in in situ, but with regards to general ParaView, the ghost cell generator does not work on multiblock datasets. The feature request to change this is here: [https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/19989](https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/19989). Note that multiblock itself is actually going away, as discussed here: [Deprecating MultiBlock datasets](https://discourse.paraview.org/t/deprecating-multiblock-datasets/4950).
