Hi,

I’m running paraview in client server mode but whenever I try to load any solution (.vtu) the server side always crashes and I get the following error message on my laptop

whilst on server side I get the following error:

I’ve already checked that the two versions of ParaView I’m using matches (for reference 5.10.1).

How I can solve this issue?

Locally it works fine (same file copied on my laptop), the issue is when I try to open it from client mode (i.e. connecting to a cluster where I have those files stored)

With the errors you shared, you may have a rendering issue on the server side. You should use egl/osmesa version on server side or force client side rendering.

I’m launching it on server side as

```auto
mpiexec pvserver
```

How would you recommend to do ?

The version on server side is `5.10.1-osmesa-MPI-Linux-Python3.9 `

no need to use mpiexec if you run with a single mpi process. But this is not the issue.

> How would you recommend to do ?

First check with your cluster IT, if they provide paraview this way, there must be a reason.

> `5.10.1-osmesa-MPI-Linux-Python3.9 `

This should work out of the box, although the warning seems to imply that you are using mesa. Please share Help → About content when connected to the server.

To use client side rendering, just set your “Remote Render Threshold” to the max possible value in Edit- \> Settings → RenderView

I’ve also done that:

But still getting:

When you’ve opened the foo.vtu file, were you using osmesa or egl version of ParaView?
