# Customization of linechart legend

How to hide some of several series parameter in the legend (for identical settings no additional information would be given!)?

How to get rid of the legend box frame?

When should the opacity be modified?

Do you want to hide the series or just hide it from the legend? Either case, the **Series Parameters** if where you do it. Uncheck a series to remove it. Set the **Legend Name** to empty for a particular series to hide it.

This is not exposed in ParaView. You can hide the entire legend, but not just the frame. To hide the legend entirely, uncheck **Show Legend** from the Properties panel.

For cases where there are lots of overlapping series, reducing opacity may help make the viz appear cleaner. Of course, there’s no requirement that you should ever change the opacity, unless you wanted to.
