# Draw annotations on top of paraview viewport

A lot of time I find myself having to add annotations to an image I take in ParaView, and most of time I just end up taking a screenshot and adding the annotations using the screenshot software.

Is there anyway to draw annotations on top of paraview viewport? For example, drawing circles, lines, or writing some text, for example like in Spectacle (screenshot app for kde)

Yes, use Annotation source.

> drawing circles, lines,

Try other sources, eg Logo source.

I was thinking more like drawing on top of the viewport, as if it was something like paint or something like that. Having to add sources to the pipeline browser seems too cumbersome

Then this is not supported and will likely never be I’m afraid.
