# Failure rendering DICe .e files

Recently I have been having an issue loading .e files into ParaView where the results do not render and there is no eyeball located to the left of the file in the Pipeline Browser. I click the “Apply” button after selecting the file in the browser and nothing appears and I am unable to apply any filters. Any solutions?

Looks like the new IOSS reader cannot read your dataset. You can use the “LegacyExodusReader” plugin as a work around but please open an issue on our gitlab: [https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues](https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues)

It appears your global node IDs starts at 0, but IDs must be \>= 1. Same for global element IDs.
