Kitware will be hosting a free webinar on **October 28th, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm ET** focused on instrumenting simulation codes with Catalyst for in-situ analysis.

As simulations continue to grow in size, writing full state to disk at a useful cadence can become a significant bottleneck. This webinar will take a practical look at how Catalyst can be integrated directly into an existing simulation workflow so data can be analyzed and visualized while it is still in memory.

Using an AMReX code as the primary example, Jeff Lee and Berk Geveci from the Kitware team will cover:

- Instrumenting an existing simulation with the Catalyst API

- Describing mesh and field data using the Conduit Mesh Blueprint

- Handling AMR data, including ghost cells

- Keeping Conduit consistent across the simulation, Catalyst, and ParaView

- Diagnosing common integration and build issues

- Generating Catalyst scripts directly from a ParaView session

- Switching between extract-only and in-situ rendering pipelines at runtime

This session is intended for computational scientists, simulation developers, research software engineers, and HPC developers who are working with large-scale simulation data or considering an in-situ workflow.

The webinar is free, but registration is required. Additional details are available here: [https://www.kitware.com/webinars/catalyst-instrumentation/](https://www.kitware.com/webinars/catalyst-instrumentation/)

We hope to see some of the ParaView community there, and please feel free to share the webinar with anyone working on simulation or in-situ visualization workflows!
