# How do I add a VTK filter that isn't already in ParaView?

You can write an XML-only plugin for many VTK filters. Please see the “Exposing an Existing Filter” section of the [ParaView Plugin Howto](https://kitware.github.io/paraview-docs/nightly/cxx/PluginHowto.html) for details.
