# Issue loading from state when using pvtr - surface visualization not possible

Hi,

I am having an issue loading from a state file which in turn loads .pvtr files. When I load the state, it appears that the files have loaded correctly, as the data arrays are present with the correct ranges. However, I am not able to visualise the data using the surface view, as I’ve shown in the screenshot attached (or any view other than the box outline).

- I get errors when I load the state file (shown in the screenshot), but I believe these can be ignored from reading [this](https://discourse.paraview.org/t/error-whenever-loading-from-state-file/15319/2) thread.
- Although the same errors show when I do the same process with normal .vtr files, I can still visualise the data, so I think the .pvtr might be causing issues.
- The location of the files hasn’t changed. Anyway, I have tried the “search files under specified directory option”.
- In my original paraview session, which I used to create the state file, I didn’t have this visualisation problem.
- I have tried the obvious things e.g. closing and reopening paraview, reopening the render view
