Hi, I have a simulation whereby I created a scalar of particles. In post processing when I went to paraview I could see the scalar volume but I am not able to know the number of particles in that volume. Could you kindly advise how to know the number of particles in the scalar volume.

How is this scalar volume defined ?

Hi Mathieu, thank you for your prompt response.
Attached is a screenshot of the clip defined. Screenshot is split into 2 (one the description and the second is the view). I tried to define ExtractBlock on the non-empty clip but nothing is there.

I’m confused by what you are trying to achieve.

You are use Clip by scalars to extract a volume. Good.

What are you then trying to do ?

Hi Mathieu,
I am trying to find in that clip the number of particles. For instance I am trying creating histogram to find the said number.
That’s fine, I will try to adopt a different approach. Thanks anyway.

Do you have a point cloud of Particles ?

In any case, please share your data.

Hi Mathieu,
How in paraview can I capture a volumetric cloud of a scalar field. I need that cloud not to defined by contour because contours do not reflect information about the volume. Once this volume of scalar is achieved I can then count the number of particles within that volume. But first I need to know how can I get that volume of the scalar field.
Regards,
George
