# Paraview (5.12, 5.13) crashs when opening Fluent files

Hello Everybody,
Paraview crashs (directly quits) when opening a fluent file (.cas, dat.h5). All cases cause Paraview to crash.
Just to notify it to all of you. Hope we’ll have a good news for the next release.

Hello, of course, not possible. Perhaps, making a test case for you as soon as possible.
I use Fluent 2023R2.

A test case (boiling water) seems to be OK with Paraview … (Fluent cas.h5 format)
Well I do not understand.
Well, all my cases could be post-processed via ensight-gold format only, with paraview, not with the Fluent cas.h5 format.
Sorry for my question. I could not investigate more. Is there any limitation when opening a fluent file (size, or version number, …) ?

There was some fixes in the fluent reader recently, so you may want to test out the nightly binary:
