Hello,
this morning, I have opened a topic on ParaView Installation through OpenFOAM, ([cmake error ("-lsocket not found") for Paraview 5.6.3 from OpenFOAM 8 installation on linux](https://discourse.paraview.org/t/cmake-error-lsocket-not-found-for-paraview-5-6-3-from-openfoam-8-installation-on-linux/5266)) but for a more recent version (2008).
I have encountered your error, and others with non recognized options for g++ (I use 10.1 version). I have solved them by commenting the corresponding lines in the CMakeLists.txt file which is
ThirdParty-8/ParaView-5.6.3/VTK/ThirdParty/eigen/vtkeigen/CMakeLists.txt
It’s about line 170-200, all the following lines have been commented because of their options that are not recognized :
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-Wshorten-64-to-32")
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-Wenum-conversion")
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-Wc++11-extensions")
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-Wconversion")
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-wd981")
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-wd2304")
check\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-strict-ansi" COMPILER\_SUPPORT\_STRICTANSI)
ei\_add\_cxx\_compiler\_flag("-Qunused-arguments")

I hope it will help you.

Regards,
Guy.
