# ParaView 5.9 release cycle starting late August

Hi folks,

We are just a few weeks away for the start of the ParaView 5.9 release cycle, likely to begin August 28. Once ParaView’s `master` branch is forked for v5.9.0, only bug fixes will be allowed in to the 5.9 release. Please work towards getting features critical for 5.9 merged in the coming weeks.
