# ParaView Crushes in MPI mode

Hello everyone, just encountered an unusual error
paraview version 5.4.1 - installed from Ubuntu repository (Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS) crushes upon the opening stack of TIFFs when MPI is on (see the error message below)
if MPI is off the process it works through, which looks like an interrupted connection
There were similar threads some years ago

but the solution of the bugs was not clear …
