Hi Guys

Just asking the question before I go down a rabbit hole and find find out that it is not entirely possible.

We have a structural engineering software which can create an export to Paraview consisting of a .vtm file and several .vtp files. We are interested in taking the data and modifying it so that we can attain results which are not natively supported by our structural software. We would obviously like to render the results on Paraview also.

Would this be feasible using the API?

Hi @Mishal, could you provide a few more details about how you would modify the data and what data you are modifying?

Hi @cory.quammen, I would be interested in taking principal stress results which I already have on paraview and then running those stresses through an equation for an S-N curve. I would then like to plot the results on Paraview.

I hope that is enough to put the idea into perspective.

The [**Calculator**](https://docs.paraview.org/en/latest/UsersGuide/filteringData.html#calculator) filter and [**Python Calculator**](https://docs.paraview.org/en/latest/UsersGuide/filteringData.html#python-calculator) let you compute derived quantities easily.
