# selector for file-series

For a simulation I’m generating `.vtp.series` output as well. This loads fine, for example, from the command-line, but is not offered as a supported format in the File / Open selector. The selector does find `.vtk.series` however.
Is this an oversight (assuming that file-series came in shortly before the release), or is the something I can configure somewhere easy (in preferences?) to get this?
Using ParaView-5.5.1 on Linux.

Yes, that should be supported. I’ve file an issue and we’ll get this into 5.6.

Just as a further followup and feedback.
Although series output was added to [OpenFOAM-1812](https://www.openfoam.com/releases/openfoam-v1812/post-processing.php#post-processing-vtk) quite a while ago, I have really started appreciate even more fully this week. I have been doing various case setups and using vtp and vtp.series during mockups - it is _ **so** _ convenient to reload the files and update the results!
