# Surface representation from 3D points

Hi there folks. I’m trying to have a surface representation from a 3D point cloud of a spring. Simply selecting the ‘surface’ option leads to something that’s almost great- _expect_ it extrapolates the spring edges to connect.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to add connectivity information to the vtk file I import. I wanted to know if there’s a way I can _manually_ remove this edge connection.

ParaView and VTK did not create this information, it is coming from your file already.

Yes, using a programmable filter, but once again, you want to fix your cell generation mechanism first.
