# The record type OCONV found in the file is unknown

Hi all,

I am currently using Radiance to generate an octree and doing ray tracing. After which, I am trying to use Paraview to visualise .dat file created from Radiance but nothing seems to appear on Paraview.

The picture below is the error I have encountered by using the Tecplot Reader. Other readers I have tried did not show anything as well.

ParaView thinks a “.dat” file corresponds to TecPlot and doesn’t know anything about Radiance. I don’t know of a reader/adaptor from Radiance. Perhaps someone else on the list does? If not it will have to be written before ParaView can open the file(s).
