# Translating/Pan view by value

I want to Pan/Translate the current view along a direction (or move the center of the view to some other location)

Basically, I am want exactly the same results as panning with mouse but in more controlled manner. (Move along X-axis but not Y/Z-axis)

Any suggestions?

I have tried using “Adjust Camera” options, but it’s not doing what I expected.

Just pan with the mouse while having this window open to see how to do it.

You need to change position and focal point correctly.

Yep. I had to change focal point along with the position and it worked.  
I thought changing just the position along a fixed plane parallel to axis would not require focal point change.
