# Unable to open a non binary .plt file

Hello, I am new in using ParaView. I am struggling to open the following file (test\_res.plt) while I can using TecPlot. Do you mind help understanding what is causing the problem?

I confirm that ParaView 5.12.0 will not open these files.

Could you open an issue on [https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/new](https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/-/issues/new)?

Please provide the source of the TecPlot files, including any version information about the code writing them as well as any TecPlot file version information.
