# Volume rendering option doesn't exist for this HDF5 file

Hi. When I open the attached VizSchema HDF5 file (produced by my own code) and use the variable “number-density” for coloring, I see no Volume option in the properties panel for volume rendering. But when I apply a filter, like Threshold or Clip, then the Volume appears in the Representation list. What’s the reason? I’m using ParaView 4.4.0!

Please try with a more recent version of ParaView
