pvserver disconnecting

well, I believe that what you see is the real cause behind the crash
The VisIT based nek reader is missing in your cluster. You can raise an IT ticket to your cluster admins who would be able to reinstall the software with the right CMAKE option (“PARAVIEW_ENABLE_VISITBRIDGE” ) enabled.
Cheers!

An update is, yes I can open the file with the paraview on the cluster. But I keep on getting the message ParaView is not responding and I will to keep clicking wait for it to load/ proceed to the next step.

Pranay

good to hear that the issue is resolved. Remember to mark this thread as solved.

“not responding” message is a typical thing. It is from the OS who thinks that the UI is stuck but in fact ParaView is busy processing stuff.

I understand that but that is getting more frequent as I try to process. Maybe if you have a workaround you can share it.

  • unzip samples.zip
  • run ParaView 5.12.0 (Linux, Binary archive)
  • File → Open → sample/field0.nek5000
  • Select Nek5000 reader, Ok,
  • Crash
