Using rendering on ParaView 5.8

Hello there,

I’m slightly new to Linux (but not to ParaView) and trying to learn how to render my scientific data using paraview (I mainly do CFD and need to make my data pretty for non-specialists). I’ve installed version 5.8 (I used to work on 5.4.1) and tried to follow this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK35O03RSTw&t=16s to get myself up and running. Immediately I noticed that in the properties of a source (say a plane) I did not have the “miscellaneous” option which allows to select a texture.
I’m pretty sure that I missed something trivial during the install, does anyone have any tips on this ? I’m running Ubuntu 18.04

Thanks !

You probably need to show the advanced by clicking on the “gear” icon.

Thanks !
