I am attempting to animate mode shapes contained within an .exo file. I have an old training guide that indicates there should be properties options “Has mode shapes” and “Animate vibrations” that will accomplish this, but in v5.13.3 I am no longer seeing that option. Is there any way to achieve this in the current version of Paraview?

That functionality must have been lost in the transition to IOSS. However, there is a filter named Animate Modes that replicates the behavior. Load your Exodus data as normal. Then apply the Animate Modes filter, specify which vectors are the displacements, and select the mode shape you want.
The get the animation to work, you will probably also have to set the number of timesteps. Do that by opening up the Time Manager (in the View menu) and change the Number of frames (in the upper right portion of the dialog).
