Hi
My simulation outputs .mpg and .mscl files. Can i use paraview to open these files? I am trying but it is not able to open these files.
thanks
This is particle data from ansys right ?
There is no reader for these formats I’m afraid, do you have other alternative formats you can export/convert to ?
Hi, thanks. Yes these are Ansys particle data.Three formats are there: Ensight, CFDPost and FieldView. Do you have some idea on how to visualise these?
Which extensions do these use ?
CFDPost uses .xml, FieldView uses.fvp and when i write in Ensight, it writes some in .mpg and .mscl and writes a .encas file. But when i try to open the .encase file in Paraview it does not show me the particle tracks. Is there any problem?
Please share your data.
Is there any other way of visualising the particle tracks in Paraview? like do I have to do anything after loading the .encas file?
Hi-I have sent. Did you receive it?
Yes i can also open and it does not contain particles. But when i do the same in CFDPost it shows the particles. There is some confusion why this is the case?
I can only assume this is not supported by ParaView yet.
But on youtube i can see people doing particle tracks in Paraview..?
Of course, they use other formats. The formats you want to open cannot be opened in ParaView yet. Maybe you can convert to other formats but its more a question for Ansys.
Okay
