Cannot connect to remote server due to OpenGL issues

I’m trying to connect from my desktop machine to a server using the same release of Paraview (5.8.0) in client/server mode. To get rid of firewall issues I’m using a reverse connection strategy.
The problem is that when establishing the connection I get the following errors:
client side

vtkOutputWindow.cxx:76 ERR| ERROR: In /opt/apps/paraview/source/VTK/Rendering/OpenGL2/vtkOpenGLRenderWindow.cxx, line 578
vtkXOpenGLRenderWindow (0x1a8e9a0): Unable to find a valid OpenGL 3.2 or later implementation. Please update your video card driver to the latest version. If you are using Mesa please make sure you have version 11.2 or later and make sure your driver in Mesa supports OpenGL 3.2 such as llvmpipe or openswr. If you are on windows and using Microsoft remote desktop note that it only supports OpenGL 3.2 with nvidia quadro cards. You can use other remoting software such as nomachine to avoid this issue.
vtkOutputWindow.cxx:86 WARN| Generic Warning: In /opt/apps/paraview/source/VTK/Rendering/OpenGL2/vtkOpenGLState.cxx, line 1380

I have NVIDIA on my desktop machine.

$ glxinfo | grep “OpenGL”
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 440.82
OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 4.60 NVIDIA
OpenGL core profile context flags: (none)
OpenGL core profile profile mask: core profile
OpenGL core profile extensions:

What can I do to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance,
Lorenzo Cozzi

Just to add some (maybe) useful data, logging in through ssh -X on the server I get the following command output:

$ glxinfo | grep “OpenGL”
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 1.4 (2.1.2 NVIDIA 440.82)

And actually the first part of the complete output of glxinfo command on my desktop machine is the following:

$ glxinfo
