cannot open multiple files via command line

Hi everyone,
i am currently experiencing an issue with opening multiple files per command line.

when i want to open paraview with the syntax

./paraview -data /home/user/coreform/first_run/first_run...vtpc

i get the error

Doing the same with ParaView-5.11.1-MPI-Linux-Python3.9-x86_64 works like a charm.

Did something change in the command line syntax with version 5.12.0?

Indeed, I confirm this regression between 5.11.2 and 5.12.0
