How to create field data files?

Hello,

In this example, @mwestphal mentioned that field data files can be used to create global variables. an example of such files is also provided in this reply.

I can’t find documentation about such files. Is there an easier way to create them?

Hi,

It is following the vtk legacy file format, with only the FIELD keyword (no DATASET needed)

I guess manual writing is the best here.
