How to read variable names from Plot3D function file.

Hi,
I am saving my simulation result consisting of 6 fields in Plot3D format. When I load the grid and function file in ParaView, the fields are named from Function0 to Function5. Is there a way to give custom names to these? Is there a provision to add variable names in the function file itself?
