Keeping Original Ids in State Files

Hi all,

I’m currently in the process of investigating what needs to be done to preserve the original Ids of proxies and properties inside a state file.

In ParaView 5.9, loading a state file with keepOriginalIds set to true triggers an abort.

I was wondering if anyone tracks information about how to tackle this issue.

original ids are not restorable in the way you seem to think here. The keepOriginalIds is only meant for things like undo/redo, for example. What is your intent with preserving ids? Maybe there’s an alterative that could work for you.

The purpose of my issue is to commit state files without having the whole file change at every save.
