Material emissivity based on variable value

Hello,

Is it possible to set the emissivity of an object based on a variable value?

It looks like emissive texture can be set by importing a texture file. I don’t understand how to generate texture files, and would like to set the emissivity based on simulation results.

Say I have results for a flame from a simulation code. Can I render light emitted from that flame? Say I generate an contour of some combustion radical that gives me the shape of the flame. Just like I can set the opacity of that contour using my temperature array, I would like to set the emissivity based on temperature.

I there any way to do something like that? That would look amazing.

Background image based lighting already makes a big difference on realistic rendering, but results based lighting would be really cool.

Thanks,
Alexandre

That would be amazing, but I’m fairly certain there is no facility to map data values to emissivity values in ParaView’s renderer.
