I have just installed Paraview 5.13.1 on my computer running Xubuntu 24.04. Paraview opens nicely but when I try create new for example Line chart view paraview crashes without any messages. I tried many times and noticed that only view that I can use are Render View, Render View (Comparative), Eye Dome Lighting, and Spread Sheet view all others crashes the paraview. In my Window computer the program works fine.
I even downloaded the source files and build the paraview from these but the same error.
I haven’t found topic abut this kind of problem. Is there somewhere log file where I can find what is wrong with my parawiev installation?
I had similar issues. I am using a wsl to run FEniCSx on windows in python. When opening a saved xmdf file from my code, ParaView immediately crashed. The solution was to save my files in a non-wsl-connected folder (for example just copy pasting the files to the desktop an reopen it again).
I found system log of my Xubuntu installation. From there I learned that the crash has something to do with my graphics card. My Nvidia card (GT210) is very old and I cant use Nvidia drivers and I have had also other problems with other programs.
I ordered new card and after I have instaled it I can return and tell has it helped.
