My paraview crashes at startup since one day ago. When I open it, it takes up all the memory and crashes my computer. Is this a paraview problem or window problem? I tried to download the newest release, but it still the same thing.
Help!
I am using windows 11 version 22H2. Before I was using Paraview 5.9, now I installed Paraview 5.11.2, but they have the same issue. My processor is AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics.
I have been using Paraview for over a year now, and it ran with no problem, but the startup problem occured two days ago. When it opens, it takes up all memory and crashes my computer, not just paraview.
I was wondering if it is a window update, but I did not find an update history that day.
Mathiew’s suggestion is the first thing to try, but if that doesn’t give you any red flags, try deleting the ParaView configuration files. This file location are documented on the wiki (which is deprecated), which is here: https://www.paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView_Settings_Files. Basically, delete everything in (I believe) c:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\ParaView-VersionNumber.
