ParaView for macOS 10.15.5 / Catalina

I have users on macOS Catalina saying that they cannot use 5.8 because of the error message:

“ParaView-5.8.0.app” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

I don’t use that particular OS, so I don’t know what advice to give. Can you provide some help? TIA

Indeed, I just worked out how jump through Apple’s notarization hoops yesterday. I will notarize 5.8.0 and 5.8.1-RC1 and put them up on the website.

Without notarization, you get this error message. You can work around it with the instructions posted here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh40616/mac
