Pick Center does not work correctly for large sparse meshes

I am using paraview with meshes of neurons, which are large and sparse.
When I try to use the pick center tool, I expect the center to be placed wherever I click on the mesh. However, as you can see in the pictures, when clicking in the soma of the neuron, the center is placed quite far behind the mesh where I clicked. Can I change some settings or do anything else to fix this?

Im unable to reproduce:

Ok so just to verify.
I am using version 5.13.2

I am loading the mesh and clicking apply. Then I am clicking the “Pick Center” button and then I click on the mesh. The rotation center will be placed in all sorts of places for me.

Which OS are you using ?
Which GPU and GPU driver ?

Windows

Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

Driver version:	31.0.101.3358
Driver date:	8/4/2022
DirectX version:	12 (FL 12.1)
Physical location:	PCI bus 0, device 2, function 0

I haven’t even considered that it’s a general problem. It seems like a similar problem occurs for me with simple geometric shapes like cylinder, box and sphere (From the Source section).

Thats probably the issue here.

Can I do anything about this (Except using another graphics card)? Everything else works perfectly fine in paraview using it, this seams to be the only issue. Even using features like “Hover Point On” or placing the “Ruler” points on a mesh work perfectly fine.

Thats unexeptected that this works for you tbh. More investigation is needed in order to figure out what is happening Im afraid.

Yes that is why I was also a bit confused since I expected these features to use a similar implementation. If there is anything else that I can provide, let me know.
