plotting data and what kinds can I?

I just started using paraview and can do some basic stuff. However,I was wondering if it would plot graphs of my CFD data such as forces, or other things. Im not really sure what other things are but im hoping to find out, maybe pressure, or velocity etc.

second, if i zoom to a certain point, about 3 feet from my object, it wont allow me to move or zoom at all . why is that

cant zoom in or move

thanks

Hi @Lt72884, for plotting, I will point you to 4. Displaying data — ParaView Documentation 5.12.0 documentation to read about different plot types that are available. Often, CFD users will use Plot Over Line to plot a profile of a data variable along a line segment that you can place arbitrarily in space. The data variables you can plot are controlled only by 1) what your data file provides, and 2) what you can derived through the use of a Calculator or Python Calculator filter, for example. You can also have a look at this plotting tutorial to get a better understanding of what is possible: 5. Beginning: Plotting — ParaView Documentation 5.12.0 documentation

As for your camera question (which would be better posted as a second topic, otherwise it might get lost in this one), in the case of extreme zooms, sometimes the camera model numerics get wonky. With your ExtractBlocks1 filter selected, click on this icon to center the camera around the object:

That should work out better for you.

thanks for this information. I tried plot over line and that is a very interesting method. Luckly i found out about the hot keys of using the numbers 1 and 2 to place the end points of the lines where my cursor is haha

as for the camera, i will try that out. it is very annoying to me. I may not even be setting up paraview correctly when i first start. I just open up my pv.foam file, set it as decomposed case and i select internal mesh and the “rocket wall” since that is my physical object.
