Praview 5.9 not working with NetCDF-CF files

Paraview 5.9 version has many variables/data fields missing for netCDF4-CF compliant files. however the same file 5.8.1 displays these variables. Is this a bug or has support for netCDF4 being discontinued?

This appears to be a bug in 5.9 that is fixed in 5.9.1. It is mentioned in the release notes here.
