Pressing Tab key jumps to search after field value modification

The properties pane allows navigating between consecutive fields by pressing the Tab key. However, if one presses Tab after modifying some fields by typing a value, the focus then jumps to the search field…! I encountered this behavior in 5.8.0 (macOS) for

Threshold: Minimum, Maximum

Clip: Origin, Normal, Offset

Slice: Origin, Normal, Offset

I suspect this was indeed a bug that was recently fixed by reverting an incorrect focus-grab here. The fix will be available in 5.9.
