I have the results of five simulations with the same initial conditions but slightly different geometries. Before applying temporal statistics filter, I take a 2D slice. I used the same method for each case. In the end, I successfully got the “average Y-velocities” for four of them.
For one of them, it still takes good time to calculate average values but it won’t show them. I mean there is only “solid” color option. The data of each time step seems fine. What could be the problem?
I found the solution. If you apply temporal statistics filter and get nothing, this is because the unsteady characteristics of the flow cause some cells being empty over time. The program registers these cells as NaN and temporal statistics won’t work. You either have to change location of the 2D-slice or you have to apply the 2D-slice on open-volume, not on fluid. Be careful about the latter, if the cells become empty too often, you’ll have an erroneous plot.
