Wow, this has 166 like on uservoice, I somehow missed it when I ported every requests.
Yep, CalculiX is a great tool, you should give a try
There are several ways to convert the .frd results to Paraview readable format (rmed, vtk, vtu…) but all lacks of some variables or are not easy to use.
Hi !
Is there any progress on this development?
I am interested too to directly read ccx results in Paraview.
Thank you !
Hi @Marvin, there are several conversors from .frd to some format compatible with Paraview, in my humild opinion the best is Calmed, that translate the whole results to a single .rmed file. I have tested several ones, and when they found a no lineal results with several increments, they convert to multiple .vtk/vtu files, that for making animations, or moving between increments is a pain. The othre point for Calmed is that it convert all the variables inside the .frd results, the others miss some of them. The last point is speed, some convertes are very slow compared with Calmed.

Hi,
Thank you for this answer.
Best regards,
We’ve just published a walk-though to convert any data format to VTK, and the frd CalculiX file format is used as example:
