Paraview 5.6.0 (and higher) on Windows 7 platform: openGL problems

Hello,

Similar to the following topic (OpenGL problems), I am getting openGL issues (see attachment). I do not have any of these issues when installing and starting Paraview sessions on a Windows 10 platform. Can someone tell me precisely what/where to look for on the Windows 7 and 10 platforms to understand why in one case Paraview fails to start up?

Basically, it means ParaView was unable to find the graphics library it needs (OpenGL) on your system to run. Do you know if your Windows 7 machine has a graphics card?

Hello Cory,

Thank you for your response. Yes, the Windows 7 machine does have a graphics card. The machine is now several years old, but it houses an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420. I’ve attached snapshots from Device Manager -> Display adapters for both the Windows 7 and 10 platforms.

Do you have NVIDIA drivers installed on the system with the NVS 420? While it is a 10-year-old GPU, it supposedly supports OpenGL 3.3, which should be sufficient.
