Where is "Surface LIC" visualization in Paraview 5.6.0 version

Good morning.

I am learning how to use ParaView by some yutube videos. All of them show the option to visualize the “Surface LIC” of the domain. The problem is that all use an old version and I don’t know where I can find this option in ParaView 5.6.0 version.

Thanks in advance.

This is a representation in a plugin.

How to use :

  • Open a Dataset with surfacic vectors
  • Tools -> Manage Plugin -> Surface Lic -> Load Selected
  • Create a new Render View
  • Show your dataset in the new view
  • Select “Surface LIC” representation in the representation type selector.

Thank you very much

Hi,

After carrying out all of the above steps is there any reason why the line integral convolution should not appear on a surface or slice?
I have updated my drivers for NVIDIA M2000 GPU, and OpenGL but nothing appers on any surface.
Also if it helps, any edit I make to the Surface LIC options on the left hand side, do not demand a “Apply” action. The Apply button stays grey…

Thanks in advance.

Apologies I appear to have got it to work once I loaded a SurfaceVector filter.

Is this normal for all solutions, or could it have just been a requirement for mine compared to tutorials I have seen?

do not demand a “Apply” action.

Modifications to the representation do not require to Apply.

Is this normal for all solutions

Hard to say without taking a look at your data.
